This project emphasizes the integration of fundamental design elements, principles, observation, and color theory to enhance effective design communication. By deconstructing an existing interior, key elements such as light, line, and rhythm were identified as a focal point to the overall design. The project also incorporates principles of color theory and drawing techniques, with grayscale studies providing a clearer evaluation of composition, texture, and form while highlighting the structural elements of the space. Through multiple iterations, techniques such as value scaling, stippling, texture design, and personal creativity were explored to refine the design process. From this analysis, a concept phrase and theme emerged: the interior exudes a serene, coastal charm and a relaxed atmosphere. Adorned with seashells and cherished keepsakes, the space is bathed in soft, flowing light reflecting the tranquility and charm of a peaceful coastal retreat.
