In this project students designed a dwelling in one of the 3 climate conditions, Arctic/Dessert/Tropical assigned. The main objective is to define the challenges of living in extreme conditions from 2 perspectives: How do/ did humans adapt and how can architecture adapt to the climate and context. Each dwelling is between 1500-2000 sqf. and students decided on the details of the program based on the environmental requirements defined in the research.
Vernacular Dwelling was a project for ARCH 254, instructor Hala Barak.
Completed 4/30/2024.
